A Labour of Love

I had such a sweet pen pal from Denmark back to more than 20yrs ago. She loves knitting and other handcrafts and did her work beautifully. Back to then I know nothing about cross stitching, I definitely not know how to appreciate her gifts as much as I do now.. It's a Labour of Love!!

This is it, from my pen pal Tina. I found the date from the frame behind too, it was Dec 1988.

This is a birthday gift I made for my friend recently. I wonder whether people would appreciate my work when they don't know cross stitching?

I was thinking to make a card originally, but it fits this mini magnetic frame perfectly, so I just keep it there!

This is another gift I made for someone who doesn't know cross stitching.. Hope she loves it as much as I do..

Hi Kitty: I cannot help you with the flower -- maybe it is a rose, maybe not; however, a beautiful bloom to admire.

Love your gifts! The pillow with the two cats is adorable. I would think your friends would enjoy receiving gifts of stitching.

    Hi Kitty!
I just love the gifts you have stitched, and I'm sure that your friends- even if they know nothing about cross stitch- will love them. It is just great to know that someone cares so much about you that they will spend a long time making something just for you.
Thank you for your kindest words on my blog, Miss Kitty.
    Take care!

Hi Kitty: I've been working on the gameboard for a long time. The SAL is intended for one square per week -- and I didn't work on it much over the Summer months.

I am using 32-count lambswool linen for my DT gameboard sampler; however, the pattern designer intended this to be stitched on 25-count linen.

    Which would make it larger.

I only stitch for about 25-30 minutes at a time. Then, I pick it up again after a break. Plus, i usually stitch in the evenings.

I perfer to use a q-snap or scroll frame for larger pieces. It is just easier for me. As for finding the linen which is good for you, just choose what works best for you. Maybe an evenweave would be a good choice.

As far as cross stitching - I just enjoy it as long as there are not a million color changes :D
